My Favorites
Music: I enjoy listening to a wide variety of of music and like to sing along with it, if there's no one within ear-shot. TV Shows: I enjoy Star Trek and it's spin-offs as well as various investigative shows. Movies: Avatar! I've temporarily forgotten all my other favorites since seeing it. Books: I have read and enjoyed many books. One that I read fairly recently which I found fascinating was The Lost Secret of Death: Our Divided Souls and the Afterlife by Peter Novak. Novak investigates a belief called the Binary Soul Doctrine which states simply that humans possess two souls which split at death, the conscious going on to reincarnate again and again, while the unconscious ends up in a type of limbo judging itself for all eternity. Despite being profoundly unsettling, I liked the way it integrated ancient beliefs with contemporary thought and made a compeling argument for a different spiritual view. My husband/partner of 33 years, a man of remarkable character and practical skills, died suddenly in early March 2009. I enjoy learning about human potential, reading studies of paranormal abilities of various sorts, exploring the use of various mental & physical techniques to expand human abilities, as well as transhuman technological development. I am a prior member of Mensa for those interested in such things. I'm doing what I can personally to make the world a better place. I typically spend my time reading books and researching on the Internet. Meeting friends for conversation and walking. Occasional movies & TV. Travel. -
