McCain ... hands down, no contest. He totally rocked Obama.

I didn't think McCain had it in him, but wow! Most amazingly, he didn't use the phrase "My friends" even once! The break dancing was just a little over the top, though, in my opinion... (and did he really have to bring in Palin to challenge Obama to an arm wrestling contest?)

All-in-all, though, a much more vigorous debate than the previous two.

All that's going to matter is what happens on Nov 4th. If people haven't made up their minds by now then they a true fence sitter.

I thought the contest was in good taste ... my issue was with how ruthlessly she broke his wrist.

In basketball we call that a flagrant foul.

And I think how they both said they would take over Australia when either won, was outrageous!! :P

I think "take over" is a bit of an exaggeration. We don't want that dangerous land ... too many mean critters there ... we're just going to snag the women and leave.

OK, now the real thing is over. What did you think? I thought McCain started off well, but Obama finished better. And I think the reaction shots killed McCain - he looked grouchy. I predict that'll get some play in the media tomorrow.

Obama is so eloquent and articulate and very "measured" in his responses. He just makes a lot of sense when he talks.

McCain even accused him of being eloquent, as if that was a bad thing.... lol... at one point at the end, it seemed like McCain was even supporting Obama... lol

Look, this is politics and no candidate is perfect, nor are they without fault....but in saying that, my money, figuratively is on Obama....

I dont know why McCain felt he had to make so many notes every time Obama spoke - maybe that was just some type of tactic? And it seemed as though Obama refuted McCain's accusation very well and very effectively, to the point where it did make McCain seem a bit grouchy...

It wasnt as interesting as their second debate, which I thought was the best one. It was too low-key and did not have enough passionate responses from either candidate....

Anyway, thats my opinion... :P

Obama definitely won this third debate. He has an uncanny ability to stick to the issues. McCain's current stance has been much too combative. I find that distracting. The nastiness that permeated his campaign these past two weeks was over the top, and some of that attitude was in his comments last night.

To me, the first debate was the most interesting. I kept dozing on this last one. There was so much redundant information from both sides, however, I thought the moderator was good. He asked some excellent questions, which never were fully answered.

One of my pet peeves about political speeches and debates is the large amount of rhetoric that gets thrown in.

McCain was especially great when he mentioned why the U.S. did not wish to do business with the "drug lord" land(s) because: the drug dealers are killing our children with thier product.

McCain seemed to do better this time as opposed to the last, but not exactly earth shattering performance either. I think he scored some good points against Obama on the tax policy questions. Problem with McCain is that while people do like him, he seems disconnected somehow. If he had blown his stop and gotten good and thoroughly PO'd about the current situation (and McCain's temper is something to behold, from what I understand) I think he'd have done a lot better. As it is, if I was having trouble sleeping one night, I know that all I'd have to do is turn on the news and listen to Obama and McCain drone on at length about things they've already said a hundred times.

I think that McCain looked very smug and not at all approachable. But, not everyone watched the debate on a channel that showed the split shots, so they did not see McCain's reactions to Obama's statements. At least McCain did not say "that one" in this debate. Obama really seemed to be playing it safe at the beginning - he was definitely on the defensive to start. And, I was impressed that Obama did not sit there and point out all of the negative attacks that McCain has been throwing at him (I know McCain stated that he has disputed everything negative that his followers have been saying about Obama, but I have yet to hear him dispute the comments that Sarah Palin has made - especially the ones about Obama hanging out with terrorists). The things that McCain pointed to as negative attacks from Obama were merely attacks on McCain's policies - not personal attacks like the ones coming from his campaign. It made McCain seem like a spoiled baby. I truly believe that Barack Obama came across as more presidential and, dare I say it? Very ELOQUENT!!!

(1) I was busy with other tasks and forgot the debate was on ... later remembering. I missed the first two-thirds when others seemed to indicate McCain had a stronger showing than in the portion I caught. I don't think either candidate has a clear vision of what to do in the following years ... any visions or goals they have will be severely influenced by the nation's economic state, both the recent problems and the debt incurred by our nation earlier this decade.

(2) I think grumpy is a good word :P

(3) I enjoyed the format for this debate more than the previous debates.
