Ok, there is a topic "Favorite Scary Movies" but this thread is for the WORST scary movies.... the awful ones where you can see what is coming a mile away (which is part of the fun)

Also what are some of the stupidest things done in scary movies..... you know things like why the heroine always runs away in high heels..... goes into the dark room by herself.....? Any favorites?

Teenage Zombies was the worst attempt at a horror movie that I have ever seen. Beneath Still Water I think is another. Worst of the worst, not even funny bad, just bad.

Dumbest things? The Scream trilogy kind of exploited those as part of the plot. But a big one is RUNNING UPSTAIRS.

Seven - I just found it utterly horrifying.

Some of those movies which are shown on Halloween (not that we celebrate that here) and the voices of the actors don't match when their mouths are actually moving!

When the people are trying to escape and they do things like run past handy implements which could be used aggressively or defensively and THEY LEAVE THEM THERE and run off and pick up a broken tree banch or a rock. A rock against a machete, or similar. Yup - that'll work!

As a slight aside ... one of the worst things about a scary movie is when (I was younger and still living at home) I was rivetted by the action taking place and failed to notice my Dad creeping up behind me. Then he would clamp his hands down on my shoulders and screech 'BOO!' in my ear. My popcorn would go flying all over the carpet!

I don't remember if it was exactly a scary movie because I have selectively erased it from memory.

I believe that Gothica is supposed to be sort of a scary movie.

It was awful & horrendous & truely revealed the major limitations on Halle Berry's acting.

OIC hehehe... can't think of any right now (other than paranormal activity-doh!)

But it made me recall when I went with two guys to see Creep Show...and the one guy had seen it all already and sat there and began chuckling in a deep voice right before anything happened!

I think one of the stupidest things they have the actor do is GO OUTSIDE IN THE DARK after a noise! lol (Or down into the basement.)

Stripper Zombies. The stupidest, lamest, "F" grade movie EVER.
Jeepers Creepers. It was so stupid. I hardly flinched and for scardey cat me to not flinch during a horror movie it has to say someone about the movie. EPIC FAIL.

Aw, that's sweet.
My Dad is super traditional and doesn't do things like that.

Short of standing up when he comes into a room you MUST greet him formally and if you leave you must make known you're doing so.
I always wished he'd do stuff like that. That would have been awesome.
