I have a very good male friend, we've been colleagues for years. He came over this afternoon and all he wanted to do was to help me with things around my home I can't do myself.

I was thinking after he had left: he is such a gracious friend. He never asks anything of me in return (although I have discovered he does enjoy my cooking lol!) and is always ready to listen to me when I'm upset about something.

I was wondering if we all have at least one friend like this?

I agree. What do you have to lose? It sounds like this man would definitely be interested in moving this relationship beyond friendship.

He does sound like a very gracious friend...though I'd have to agree that asking him out for coffee is a great idea!

I wish I had a friend like this. You are blessed to have such a friend. So do random acts of kindness for him and cook him something yummy and take it to him when he least expects it- you can make it so that it can be frozen and pulled out to heat up and eat. OR a yummy dessert that he also can eat and freeze to pull out over and over from his freezer. It is a good to have a friend and to appreciate them.

Thank you, all. He is also my Boss now. I think I would feel a little awkward asking him out to coffee - as he will be conducting my performance evalution in January! LOL!

Yes, I think I am very fortunate to have such a good friend.

Thank you - yes, he responds well to Acts of Service. If you have read The Five Love Languages? It was his birthday this past week and I did just that. Baked him some muffins instead of buying him a gift, the look on his face was priceless.

Haha - I never thought of that and he is quite partial to chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate.
