This is a very honest heartfelt question....does eharmony work for Black women? It seems to me that only success stories I see are from nice, decent looking to very attractive Caucasian people. I see quite a few interracial couples (Black men and and other races other than Black, which is fine.) and I'm not saying that there are'nt any matches or success stories, I just havent heard of many or seen them on here...maybe 3...

But I am not convinced at this point that this site works for a Black women. I haven't communicated with anyone since I have been on here, which has been 6 months...I do have my options open to other races and still nothing...majority of my matches are from people who aren't paying members, matches of Black men are very slim, and with those few, there isn't any chemistry for me....and there are a lot of matches I receive of White men, and sometimes it's the same thing or the match is closed. I am an attractive woman with good qualities...but I am starting to think I am wasting my time and money. Maybe this site isn't structured for me as a Black woman...
So, I was just wonder if I could get some feed back to if there have been some nice match ups, communications or even dates for Black women on eharmony...just to get some insight, before I cancel my time here.
Please someone help me out...give me some good news, prove me wrong! Lol!

I am a dark, Hispanic guy who lived in NC for many years and I find your remarks quite interesting. Why do you think this place is not structured for Black women? What type of stuff do you think needs to be added to be more inclusive to blacks? Also, you mention that your chemistry with black guys is not the best. What are you looking for in a black guy? I remember when I was pursung my MBA that I met many attractive black women (specially from the Southeast) who complained of the same issue.

I think Eharmony works for some black women, but it mostly works for white women and men. This is more due to less black people being on Eharmony. I am a mixed black/white guy, and I have not had any luck. I think it has to due who Eharmony appeals to. It is a paying dating site. People on here usually (not always) have the money to pay for this kind of site. In reality, there are many poor black women and men who cannot afford it. I use this dating sites to get to know someone, and I use it as an alternative option. I think Eharmony could work on making this site more diverse. It does a good job promoting successful stories. However, let us be honest how many of those stories are of other races? I think with ads on television of diverse success stories; then this site will accomplish reaching out to every ethnic group.

I agree with Whatalife, this site just does not appeal to Black, Asian or Latinos. I don't think it is the fault of Eharmony. I don't think this site is too expensive either, $20 a month is not much at all. With about 80% to 85% (my own personal estimate) of the people who join Eharmony being White and then only 10% of members are paying customers, makes it tough. However, all you need is one good match.

I say this because I just don't see any thing proving that it works for Black women. There aren't a lot of black me on here and the other races are really interested...I think maybe if eharmony would also show success stories of all different races, maybe more people would be interested in joining. And about me not have chemistry with Black men on here...let me clarify that...I don't have much chemistry with the Black men on this site, because there aren't many to choose from. Some days I don't get any matches at all, so I have opened up my choices to more races.

I agree with you...I have told customer service, that I don't think it works for Black women & men and he told me that he has expressed
to his superiors that they do need to show more diverse ads, because he here's this compliant or concern all the time. And how ironic, a Eharmony commercial is on as I type this and I don't see anyone on this commercials that look like me or my background....HAH! Go figure....

Well, it can be consider expensive to some at times, it all depends on how serious you are about meeting someone, but if the ad's of success stories appealed to all races across the board maybe more people would not mind paying for the service and join, because they will see it appeals to their interest. I also believe that maybe non paying matches should be sent to people that are paying members, it's a waste of time.

I believe you get what you expect out anything in life. If you see the ads and do not feel drawn by them. Why would you join. In life we need to respect the little voice of wisdom and knowledge we hear in the hollow of our minds. I had declined to join as a paying member on Eh for 4 years. I even closed out my account. Two weeks ago I came back with the expectation of finding a mate and I have already entered open-communication with a great black man. Initially I opened up for various races and eventually I narrowed myself into my true interest. I have found several men of interest. They are not prompt to respond I feel comfortable with 2-3 new matches a day so I close them out 180 in 2 weeks. You need to define what you are seeking to find here, then proceed in confidence.

I am a white guy so I don't really have any answers but I do find the question interesting. It really raises another question in my mind that may be more pertinent.

1. Do blacks (or other races than white) use any dating sites in a significant percentage?

2. Do blacks (or other races than white) make up a significant percentage of eHarmony members?

I will take a complete SWAG at the answers to the first question is no which would make the answer to the second likely to be no also.

Do you mean non-payers should not be sent to payers? Just curious. I think it should be noted that over last 2 years I was a member of 4 other well known online dating sevices and they all follow the same trend. Vast majority of members are White as opposed to any other race. I think it is a cultural view against online dating and most believe that it is an act of "desperation", I know I used to.
