Not trying to single anyone out at all here - because this behavior is kind of widespread - but I have to say I agree 100% with this sentiment.

I have always been the type of person who gives great advice - on OTHER people's situations - but find myself reeling from time to time on my own. When there is lots of emotion involved, rational thought can fall very quickly by the wayside. Also, sometimes people just need to vent or get support.

We're all different. Good thing, too, because the world we be EXTREMLY boring if we weren't.

My #1 tip for participating here or in any online Community is: if your comment won't be a positive contribution to the conversation, pass it by. Don't post. Not to say that we can only say positive things -- sometimes respectfully disagreeing and offering facts or viewpoints to illuminate someone else's view can be the most positive thing we can do.

But a lot of the remarks I see on here are just snark and although they don't outright violate the Standards, it's really clear that the purpose of them is to make the other Member feel stupid. NOT COOL.
